Thin Film Temperature Sensor

Most resistance temperature detectors (RTD) use PT100 or PT1000 as sensing element. Most designs place the PT100 or PT1000 chips in metal tubes or ceramics. This is not a good solution for surface temperature measurement.
Based on our long experience with flexible heater manufacturing, we have developed a special thin film temperature sensor. The platinum wires are wound around a small kapton foil, which forms PT100 or PT1000. After the lead wires are soldered, the whole assembly are encapsulated in silicone rubber or kapton or PET films for insulation. The advantages of this design are:
- Very sensitive and accurate due to the close contact of PT100 with the heat sink
- Very flexible, suitable for temperature sensing on flat or curved surface
- Larger sensing area. It actually measures the average temperature of an area than a point.
- Easily installation. With self adhesive tape at the backside, the sensor can be easily attached to any point you want to measure.
